Day #27. Is it the end of times?

It is 2011.

We are facing earthquakes.

Wars.

Famine all over the world.

Is it the end of the world? Is Jesus coming back now?

People all over the world believe that we have reached the end of times. I also found myself saying that a couple of times as well, to be honest.

But I think God wanted to remind me some things. I was reading Matthew 24 yesterday and today, and I did a lot of reflecting. Please, don’t hesitate to read the whole chapter so you may know what I am referring to.

Jesus was foretelling the future when he was asked, “When will there be any sign ahead of time to signal your return and the end of the world?”

Verse 6. Jesus told them, “…When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don’t panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming.”

Just because we are seeing wars and earthquakes all over the world, it does not mean that it is the return of the Son of Man. Those things are simply things that we will experience in life. His return will not be known, so we must always be alert. Verse 43. “A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would stay alert and not permit the house to be broken into. You also must be ready at all time. For the Son of Man will come when least expected.”

“If that person only looks out for himself, and the minute the Master is away, he does what he pleases—the Master is going to show up when he least expects it and make a hash of him. He’ll end up in the dump with the hypocrites, out in the cold shivering, teeth chattering.” –(The Message)

Oh, Lord, I do not want that to be me. I want to be ready at all time. I don’t want to be caught off guard. That’s why it’s so important to live as God would like us to, daily. Sometimes, we think that we still have tomorrow, but tomorrow is never promised. I encourage you today to get your life right with God.

I’m still seeking Your face Lord,

I respect You and all that You are.

I pray that others may come to see Your face.

Help us, and keep us going each day.

Acquit us, as we throw our worries away.

Pull us back from evil.

Lift us up, if we are falling or struggling.

You’re everything to me.

You are what matters the most in my life.

Keep me.

Your chosen one,

Deborah Kabwang
