If God exists, why is there so much evil going on in the world?

Thought of the day.

People always say, “If God exists, why is there so much evil going on in the world? Why can’t he eliminate evil from happening?”

Anything that is evil is not of God, if it’s not of God, it’s against God. Sin is evil. It’s not of God. So does that include us? If God was to eliminate all evil things, you and I would be ELIMINATED as well because we do evil almost everyday.

Lying, evil thoughts, envy, jealousy, pride, lust, anger, greed, the list goes on on.

But Because of JESUS and His mercy, we aren’t eliminated, but we are forgiven every time we repent with a sincere heart and seek for His forgiveness.

Good DAY!!!!!

Holy Spirit…

I didn’t come to realize the power of the Holy Spirit until I read a book called SET MY HEART ON FIRE by Catherine Martin. God revealed to me new things about what I thought I knew before.

I mean, let’s be real. We all pray and say “God, let Your Holy Spirit dwell in this place…” etc… but sometimes, we only repeat what we’ve heard others say. We don’t even understand it ourselves. At least, we think we do, but not profoundly. I knew of the Holy Spirit, but I didn’t let HIM in like I should have a long time ago.

Sometimes, people treat the Holy Spirit like someone who they can invite here and there, every now and then, when it’s convenient. People are missing out big time.
We should want the Holy Spirit with us at all times.  The Holy Spirit allows you to have that personal experience in the Lord’s presence. And to me, there is nothing better in this world than to be in the presence of God. Wow. The presence of God–there is no better place.
The Holy Spirit helps you do things in ministry you never thought you would do; like preach, leading a Bible study, or leading worship.
The Holy Spirit helps you understand the Bible or church doctrines that are beyond your human knowledge.
The Holy Spirit provides resources you need to live. He knows what you need even before you knew it.
The Holy Spirit won’t walk out on you. He’s your Helper. Comforter. Why turn to things of this world for comfort when the Holy Spirit is always here for you?

“And I will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that he may remain with you forever-the Spirit of Truth.” John 14:16-17

To live a Spirit-filled life is wonderful. And it’s what God wants for all of you.
Today, make the decision to be spirit-filled no matter what. Welcome the Holy Spirit in your life…

God is still working on me.

Day #27. Is it the end of times?

It is 2011.

We are facing earthquakes.

Wars.

Famine all over the world.

Is it the end of the world? Is Jesus coming back now?

People all over the world believe that we have reached the end of times. I also found myself saying that a couple of times as well, to be honest.

But I think God wanted to remind me some things. I was reading Matthew 24 yesterday and today, and I did a lot of reflecting. Please, don’t hesitate to read the whole chapter so you may know what I am referring to.

Jesus was foretelling the future when he was asked, “When will there be any sign ahead of time to signal your return and the end of the world?”

Verse 6. Jesus told them, “…When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don’t panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming.”

Just because we are seeing wars and earthquakes all over the world, it does not mean that it is the return of the Son of Man. Those things are simply things that we will experience in life. His return will not be known, so we must always be alert. Verse 43. “A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would stay alert and not permit the house to be broken into. You also must be ready at all time. For the Son of Man will come when least expected.”

“If that person only looks out for himself, and the minute the Master is away, he does what he pleases—the Master is going to show up when he least expects it and make a hash of him. He’ll end up in the dump with the hypocrites, out in the cold shivering, teeth chattering.” –(The Message)

Oh, Lord, I do not want that to be me. I want to be ready at all time. I don’t want to be caught off guard. That’s why it’s so important to live as God would like us to, daily. Sometimes, we think that we still have tomorrow, but tomorrow is never promised. I encourage you today to get your life right with God.

I’m still seeking Your face Lord,

I respect You and all that You are.

I pray that others may come to see Your face.

Help us, and keep us going each day.

Acquit us, as we throw our worries away.

Pull us back from evil.

Lift us up, if we are falling or struggling.

You’re everything to me.

You are what matters the most in my life.

Keep me.

Your chosen one,

Deborah Kabwang

Day #4 “Check Your Heart!”

“Anything that is swallowed works its way through the intestines and is finally defecated. But what comes out of the mouth gets its start in the heart. It is from the heart that we vomit up evil arguments, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, lies, and cussing. That is what pollutes. Eating or not eating certain foods, washing or not washing your hands–that’s neither here or there.”

This is from “The Message” by Eugene  Peterson. That passage was taken from the Book of Matthews when Jesus was talking to Peter when he was told by his disciples that the Pharisees were upset when they heard Jesus say,” it’s not what you swallow that pollutes your life, but what you vomit.”

If your heart is hardened, how can God use you?
If your heart is full of pain, how can you allow someone to love you?
If your heart is full of worry and stress, how can you be free?
If your heart is so full of anger and hatred toward someone, you’ve already murdered that person.

If your heart isn’t right, how can YOU be right?

Proverbs 4: 23 says,
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

Meaning that, your heart will affect everything you do!
Be careful what and who you let into your heart!
Be Blessed!

My Inner Thoughts

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. Well about a week. lol.

My inner thoughts for today:

How do you not give up when it seems like you can’t take it anymore? You try to hold on, but there’s always a voice telling you that you cannot make it. That you’re better off just giving up. That’s the time when you have to realize that you can no longer do it alone. When you try to do things your way, you will always come back to that same place wondering why everything is not working as you wish. God never intended for us to fight our battles alone. He’s there to help us in every situation of our lives. When things do not work out, people tend to try to fix it themselves, but there comes a time when you have to be humble and just surrender all in God’s hands. Whatever struggle or situation you might be going through, God can bring you out of it–if you learn how to trust Him. If you learn how stop leaning on your understanding and to just trust God to lead the way. So how do you get back up after a hard situation, after struggling for so long? You just do it, because you know that there is something greater. God can make a testimony out of every struggle. I’ve learned that whatever I may be going through, that I need to stop trying to fix everything myself. every time I think I got it, I don’t. Because I find myself back in the same situation again. That’s when it dawned on me that I must not continue that way. I had to learn how to go to the Father before all things– before anyone else. Once I learned how to do that, everything changed. Everything is still changing.

And He’s still working in me…still changing things around for me.
