Man this book was a wonderful read, it related to me in so many ways. I was blessed by every chapter and couldnt stop reading until i was completely done. It just goes to show how we allow the wrong person in our lives and before we know it god is all out the picture and we are left with broken pieces to put back together. You should really get its an awesome book!!

This is such a great book. I was a bit weary at first given that there haven’t been many reviews of the book, but I’m glad I chose to purchase it. I found pieces of myself in Mimi and was right there as though part of a movie audience ooohing and ahh-ing when various scenes unfolded. I love that the author kept the word of God woven throughout her novel. I couldn’t put it down. I especially loved the message of hope that was offered at the end of the book, as well as in the author’s epilogue. I found myself praying throughout the time I read it that I would learn from Mimi’s mistakes b/c like I said; I could definitely see myself in that character. It’s hard being Christian, but dare I say it’s harder being a Christian WOMAN with all these men that may come in sheep’s clothing and leave with your heart and your virtue. I give this 2 thumbs and 2 big toes up! Great read, give it a chance, and let’s get “Secrets Buried in the Soul” the plethora of ratings it deserves.

It beats me why I took so long to write my review on this book.

I can get too excited about reviewing products or books I love, but I’ll try my best not to give any spoilers in my review.

Reading this book helped me reinforce the truth that we should always consult God in every decision we make as human beings. Ladies especially, when choosing a spouse.
I love how the writer made the characters in the book real easy to relate to.
As a girl who loves her romantic drama/comedies, this book was a win for me. But, the Christian-tone the book had made it even that much more enjoyable.

Definitely recommend this and look forward to more books by Deborah Kabwang.

I read this book from start to finish and i did not even want to put it down after i was done reading it. I want more books by this author. The story almost seems real, i could totally relate to the lady’s experiences in the book. Great Job!!!

It was an honor to read something from someone I know personally. I loved this book!!!
It’s speaks on issues that most young adults are facing every day. We could ALL find ourselves represented by the characters in the book. It’s an easy book to read – even for those who have never read before.

This book was extremely good. For me, it was a page turner and I couldn’t put it down.
Many girls/women do settle for less and this book really helped me to see that. I settled for less in the past, because I was impatient and didn’t really know who I was.

I’ve dated guys like Tony. Those charming pretty boys!! RUN FROM THEM! Tony reminded me so much of a man I once dated.

Now, Cameron is the ideal man I am still waiting on today!
I hope my prince charming will soon arrive. Ladies, be patient because that man will come sooner or later, but trust God. That’s what I’m learning to do.

Laurymimi (love the name, by the way) was lost and confused. She put her trust in a man instead of God. And it resulted in a whole lot of drama! I won’t spoil it for you, guys!

Anyway, this book should be read by all women and girls! It’s funny, too. Great debut for this new author!

This was a great book and I think every young woman entering into relationships should read it…it is so easy to be in denial when u think you are in love. An older man is no match for you. I have daughters and I am in constant prayer for a man like Cameron..

This book is a great read for the young people. You won’t want to put it down as it so wonderfully draws you into the world and emotions of the characters. As a former youth leader of 10 years, I would highly recommend this book to black youth ministries across the nation. Secrets Buried in the Soul deals with issues that this generation struggles with and gives great perspective and drama. A GREAT FIND!

Very good novel. I’ve been empowered by the story. Really interesting because the author makes us identify to the characters. To all the young people and especially girls who are in a time when they are about to make bad choices in their life, this book makes us realise that we don’t have to settle for less. God is in control and he has a destiny for us.
