I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.:-) I did.
This year went by too fast, it kinds of baffles me. 2012 is already here…
Wow.
Anyway, yesterday I did a solo at my church S.O.S and it was great. It felt really nice to be dancing again. It had been a while since I danced because of health issues among other things, but I felt so alive when I danced yesterday. I don’t know if any of you ever felt that way about something you love to do. When I dance, I feel so free and liberated. It’s something I can’t describe, but I thank God for this gift. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until yesterday.
I’ve taken it for granted lately, but after I danced, people were weeping, touched the spirit of God and the anointing; I was so speechless. I didn’t realize what God would do through my dance. It’s like I had forgotten the vision.
“Don’t you dare ever stop dancing. That is truly your God-given talent. It’s so natural,” someone said to me after church.
Seriously, I‘ve taken this gift lightly lately, so when I saw how people were moved by my dance, I was flabbergasted. But it gave me a wakeup call.
Stop sitting and sleeping on your God-given gift.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
James 1:1
“It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”
1 Corinthians 12:11
If you know there is a gift inside of you that God gave you, please, please, please, use it. You don’t want God to take it away from you. Or Him asking you at the gates of Heaven, “What did you do with what I gave you? Your gifts?”
What will be your response? “Nothing” ????????
It doesn’t have to be dancing, singing, or playing instruments. Maybe you were gifted with cooking skills that he wants you to use it in a certain way or counseling people. If you think you don’t have a gift, think again. And if you still don’t think you have a gift, pray about it so that God may reveal it you.
“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.”
Romans 12:
I know what I know. And it’s that I love dancing. Nothing can change that. Not you, not my age, not your mom, or anyone. But it’s not just any dancing. It’s ministry. Dance Ministry. I dance for my King. Yes, I used to do any kind of dancing in my past. But then God began to reveal to me why He gave me this gift. The divinity in my dance. Now I dance with a reason. I dance with a passion. I dance because I have to. It’s a need. It’s the Artistic Freedom within me, ready to be released for His Glory.
“For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.”
Romans 11:29
Blessing to you on this day.
