If God exists, why is there so much evil going on in the world?

Thought of the day.

People always say, “If God exists, why is there so much evil going on in the world? Why can’t he eliminate evil from happening?”

Anything that is evil is not of God, if it’s not of God, it’s against God. Sin is evil. It’s not of God. So does that include us? If God was to eliminate all evil things, you and I would be ELIMINATED as well because we do evil almost everyday.

Lying, evil thoughts, envy, jealousy, pride, lust, anger, greed, the list goes on on.

But Because of JESUS and His mercy, we aren’t eliminated, but we are forgiven every time we repent with a sincere heart and seek for His forgiveness.

Good DAY!!!!!

Holy Spirit…

I didn’t come to realize the power of the Holy Spirit until I read a book called SET MY HEART ON FIRE by Catherine Martin. God revealed to me new things about what I thought I knew before.

I mean, let’s be real. We all pray and say “God, let Your Holy Spirit dwell in this place…” etc… but sometimes, we only repeat what we’ve heard others say. We don’t even understand it ourselves. At least, we think we do, but not profoundly. I knew of the Holy Spirit, but I didn’t let HIM in like I should have a long time ago.

Sometimes, people treat the Holy Spirit like someone who they can invite here and there, every now and then, when it’s convenient. People are missing out big time.
We should want the Holy Spirit with us at all times.  The Holy Spirit allows you to have that personal experience in the Lord’s presence. And to me, there is nothing better in this world than to be in the presence of God. Wow. The presence of God–there is no better place.
The Holy Spirit helps you do things in ministry you never thought you would do; like preach, leading a Bible study, or leading worship.
The Holy Spirit helps you understand the Bible or church doctrines that are beyond your human knowledge.
The Holy Spirit provides resources you need to live. He knows what you need even before you knew it.
The Holy Spirit won’t walk out on you. He’s your Helper. Comforter. Why turn to things of this world for comfort when the Holy Spirit is always here for you?

“And I will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that he may remain with you forever-the Spirit of Truth.” John 14:16-17

To live a Spirit-filled life is wonderful. And it’s what God wants for all of you.
Today, make the decision to be spirit-filled no matter what. Welcome the Holy Spirit in your life…

God is still working on me.

Filled with the Holy Spirit

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Ephesians 5:18

When I was younger I used to think that being filled with the Holy Spirit meant that you had to be one of those crazy people always yelling at church and rolling around on the floor during service. But as I grew older, and matured spiritually, I came to realize that there was so much more to being filled with Holy Spirit—so much!

As I was meditating today, I would like to share what I dwelled on.

You may have heard this verse: On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came as a violent rushing wind.” Acts 2:2

As you may have experienced, the wind is uncontrollable!  And so is the Holy Spirit. You cannot plan His moves, can’t control, or command him. Instead, the Holy Spirit controls you. As believers, it’s important to be filled with the Holy Spirit again and again.

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, the Lord desires to move you in His direction and not yours. You’ll find yourself living the life that God has planned for you.

Once I allowed the Holy Spirit to just move within, I am telling you that it is the greatest feeling ever. Just knowing that He is in control and all you can do is let Him lead you.

I used to be afraid of what people will say if they saw me “get lost in the Spirit” at church, for example. But deep down, I admired those people. Because they were so crazy about God that they did not care who was around.  And now, I do not care who is around, when the Holy Spirit wants to move, I allow Him to.  No matter where I am.

To be lost in the life and fullness of Jesus…is a way to describe being filled in the Holy Spirit. “The focus is what God does in you and not what you do for God.”

So, how can you be filled with the Holy Spirit?

  1. Confess yourself to God. He already knows what you’ve done, but he just wants you to confess it. To free yourself. Admit what you have done and humble yourself before Him.
  2. Surrender yourself to Him. God requires us to give Him all we have and all that we are. All of you is what He wants. Romans 12:1 says “Present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”
  3. Pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Just pray and ask Him. It’s that simple. “If we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” 1 John 5:14-15
  4. Faithfully follow the lead of the Holy Spirit in every part of your life.  “The Filling of the Holy Spirit is not a once and for all act, but a continuous ongoing, moment process.”

You will begin to see your life transform when you are filled with Holy Spirit, so don’t be afraid!

Have a good weekend!

Day #2 What have you been saying?

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”

Our words can create our atmosphere, future and environment.
If you are a person who constantly spit out negative words, chances are, you will see negative results.

Proverbs 13:3″Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.”

Your tongue is the pilot of your life, in a way. That is why we must be aware of what we say. Words can determine our future. Words that were declared maybe years ago, are probably playing a big part in your life, today.
For example, if you’ve said to yourself over and over,” I will never make it , it’s too tough”
Chances are, you have not made it yet. Why? Because you’ve confessed those words a long time ago and did not realize the power behind those words.

Every Morning, we can decide what kind of day we want to have.
If you wake up saying, “Man, I am in a bad mood today, this will not be a good day for me.”
You’ve just created a negative atmosphere. And you will eventually have a bad day, with a bad mood.
But if you wake up saying, “I will have a good day no matter what comes my way, I will not let my mood interfere with that I have to get done today.”
That is the right attitude!
Proverbs 10:31 “The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.”
So before opening your mouth, think about what you are about to say!
God bless :-)
