Feeling lonely???

Loneliness can depress you. If you dwell on the fact that you are lonely for too long, you will only make it harder on yourself. Should you not have a time in your life when you feel lonely?

I’m sure everyone encounters that feeling or has ever encountered that feeling, but don’t let it get you down. You aren’t lonely. When God lives in you, loneliness can never get the best of you. Instead, “when you are lonely, too much stillness is exactly the thing that seems to be laying waste in your soul. Use that stillness to quiet your heat before God. Get to know Him.”- Elisabeth Elliot.

Here are a few reasons why people feel lonely and a few verses to help you cope with loneliness.

1. Loneliness is the anguish I feel when I sense that I am being cut off from the spirit of others.

(“I am full of heaviness: and I looked for someone to lament with me but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none).” Psalm 69: 20

2. Loneliness in the evidence that I was expecting others to meet my needs as only God can.

(“My soul waits thou only upon God. For my expectation is from Him).” Psalm 62:5

3. Loneliness means that at that very moment, God feels the same anguish toward me because my basic delight is not in Him.

(“I will delight myself in the Lord and He shall give me the desire of my heart).” Psalm 37:4

Psalm is a good book to read when you feel abandoned or lonely. It’ll get your spirit back where it needs to be.
